Update on the Midwest's Baby Influx

My sister wound up giving birth the evening of my last post, so he's exactly ten weeks younger than Monkey. My former boss wound up giving birth yesterday after her water broke at work. The little kiddo still didn't have a name, but they finally decided on a name after he was a couple hours old. I officially don't know anymore pregnant women. At least not personally.

I've got to hand it to my former boss for working through to almost nine months. I was out of there at seven months and that was pushing it. If my job had just consisted of computer or paperwork I probably could've lasted longer, but being on my feet all day selling people glasses was tiring even when I wasn't pregnant. So I skidaddled (Where'd that word come from? Goodness.) on July 1st. I didn't even work a full day since we were so slow. I'm glad I did though. I much prefer being a SAHM.

Hmmm. What else is going on? Oh. Duh. The obvious is that Thanksgiving is tomorrow. We got Monkey a cute outfit and I made her a headband. Well, I made the bow to go on the headband. Sorry for the stock picture and crappy cell phone picture. There will be better pictures of her in the outfit after tomorrow.

Well, I'm gonna have to get the pumpkin pie out of the oven soon, so I will leave you with that for now.

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's to hoping I don't go back up a pant size tomorrow.

Apologies

I apologize for not having updated in a long time, however I have a very good excuse. Newborns are difficult and take up  time. Especially since my baby is what has been lovingly referred to as a "velcro baby". She does not like being put down if I'm not right next to her playing with her. She's getting better though. Right now she's sitting in this cute little chair that used to be J's sister's. It's reclined a little since she can't quite hold her head up all the time yet. I guess since I never actually updated when she was born I'll tell you a bit about that now.
Monkey was born August 30th at 2:40pm. I had gone in the night before at 7pm to be induced, but didn't even get a room until 8:30, I think. I don't remember much about specific times. I do know that it seemed ridiculously easy compared to what I've been told about labor. I kept having a conversation with the nurses, J, and my mom in between pushing. J found that hilarious.
She was 7 lbs 8.5 oz and 18.5" long when she was born. I was expecting a much bigger baby considering I was 8 lbs 6 oz and 22" long when I was born. And I was the smallest of my mom's three kids.
Two days after Monkey was born my former assistant manager's wife gave birth to a baby girl and two days after that a former high school classmate gave birth to a baby girl. To balance that out another former coworker had a boy about a month before Monkey, my sister's due with a boy in a week (exactly!), and my former boss is due with a boy in a month. It's going baby crazy here in the midwest!

I'm gonna go play with my adorable daughter now, but I'll leave you with a picture.
